In 2001, Impact Digital, New York based retouching and pre-press company recognized a major revolution in professional photography. High-end digital camera backs reached the 22 Megapixel threshold that enabled digital photography to compete with film. To provide a solution, Impact Digital created the DC7, a server-based, mobile digital capture system that handles all parts of the process. In 2002, Impact Digital launched Industrial Color, Inc. to focus on serving the needs of photographers and clients.
Industrial Color currently builds a variety of digital capture systems and rents them with a skilled technician to producers, photographers and in-house studios. Its principle product, the DC7 is a rugged, mobile system designed to offer unparalleled production capacity and security. It allows simultaneous functionality, including image capture, editing, raw file processing, color management, proofing and file delivery. The system also allows clients and designers to connect to the system and work on files in real-time. This allows for layout and retouching to be produced on-set if requested. The DC8 location system comes equip with a mobile tent for editing.
Industrial Color has offices in NY, L.A. and Miami and frequently travels worldwide to support a shoot.
