The first video does not play on my iPad.
I am in Ukraine at this time so have not been able to download and try version 8 but I am looking forward to it. Hopefully you have incorporated two features that I have been wanting. 1) the spot removal tool being able to remove ling hairs or even telephone wires. (Aperture could do this very effectively since early vs.3) and 2.). The colour coding means nothing to me as it is. I know that the red dot is in fact Red. You do not need to tell me this. I need it to work like in “Media Pro” where I can tell my Red dot (or rather square) that the words beside the red square might be “to be Printed” or maybe “export to flickr.” Otherwise I need to have a piece of paper stuck to my monitor so that I can remember what each colour means. As it is I do not use it. Thanks for listening.

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Paul,

Sorry for the late response. Thanks for your input on color coding.

All the best,
Niels

..and applying multiple color flag will very helpful (as above I can want “to print” something and “publish to flickr”).

Hej Niels,

Kan se du er blevet filmstjerne, godt gået i den alder!

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Kasper,

I’ll just write in English so everybody understands. Yes, felt like doing a movie:)
Thanks!

Br,
Niels

Great to see the team behind this program, which I really love. I’ve never found any program that is better at getting the white balance right first time. The webinars are a great help too in learning how best to use the many features it has. Who needs Lightroom anyway, give me Capture One any time!

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Alan,

I totally agree! Thanks a lot for your kind words.

Best regards,
Niels

You need a Capture One Facebook page! There is an official Phase One page but one for Capture One would be good too. 🙂

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the suggestion. We’ll definitely consider that!

Br,
Niels

I´m a professional photographer from portugal and a entusiast user of capture one since version 3. I already upgrade to version 8. I’ve never found any program that is better.
To the Capture One teem: Thank you very much, sincerely.
I only regret not be able to use your cameras due to the price; with the set, Capture One and Phase One Camera software, professionally I would be in paradise.
Best regards
António Monteiro

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Antonio,

Thanks for your kind words. It’s so good to hear.

All the best from Phase One

I love you guys and bless you for what you do so well.
May your passion long burn!
Capture One has come a long way and it is just stunning in usability and output while most importantly for me, the user interface is easy.
Woo Hoo!!
Dave

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Dave

Cool. We will definitely keep the passion. Can’t help it!

Thanks for your kind words.

All the best,

Niels

I have been using Capture One now for 4 years and have never looked back. It gives me a new found confidence when shooting. I cannot wait to try this new version. Thanks to you and your team it has made both my shooting and post work a truly unique and pleasurable experience.

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Tom,

Perfect. We are so pleased to hear.
Thanks a lot.

All the best,

I have downloaded capture 8 but it will not load the thumbnails off my Nikon D810 so i still cannot process the raws when will the update be coming. i am on a mac with latest OS

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Carol,

Be sure to be download Capture Obe 8.0.1. and set your camera to shoot full raw files. You can choose between compressed or uncompressed, 12 or 14 bit, but it needs to be full raw size.

All the best,
Niels

Hi, I’m in the process of upgrading. Excellent Software. I’m there! A couple of questions with regards to your monitors. Are they Lacie or Eizo and what size. I’m full on with my MBP but need a larger monitor. Not sure about the Thunderbolt. What are you using. Thanks/john

The Image Quality Professor

Hi John,

Thanks for your question. I will write you an e-mail.

All the best,
Niels

Hello,

I’m an Apple Aperture refugee, shooting stills, video and gathering audio now like many in todays multi-media world.

Within an Aperture Library I can store stills, video & audio clips. Is there any chance you could offer video & audio functionality within Capture One?

Nothing more than being able to store/reference video & audio clips is required, just having a folder within Capture One to store video & audio assets would be fantastic.

Cheers,
Chris

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Chris,

Capture One Pro 8 supports viewing capabilities of videos with embedded audio but not separate audio files. You can add videos to both a Session folder and a Catalog in Capture One Pro 8. If your camera saves the videos in the normal still image folder on your memory card, then they would be imported together with the stills when importing into Capture One. We agree that there is a point in also being able to handle audio files. Thanks for your input.

All the best,

Niels

I was initially blown away with how accurately and subtly you have apparently made photographic grain interact with a digital image.

Further probing into other areas of the software show a well thought out and well balanced feature set.

Good to see some healthy, passionate competition in the image software space, you have my support and best wishes.

Congratulations to the team.

Thanks a lot for this video. It is really a pleasure see those making this incredible product. Thanks a lot to the whole team

Thank you for the nice words. We are happy to hear you liked the video.

I’m a long term Phase One back and Capture One user. I have watched it improve steadily over the years and find the results markedly superior to the other major software programs.
I particularly like the way C1 8.3 meshes with the XF camera and IQ 380 back. To be able to have identical camera controls on the body, the back and my computer is impressive!

Hi Bill,

Sounds amazing. We are so happy to hear.

All the best,
GItte

Gerhard Selke

Thank you. I found it.

Please more webinars in german.
😉

The Image Quality Professor

Hi Gerhard,

I will take that back to the team.

All the best,

Great product but, for those of a certain age, the small typefaces and interface elements are impossible to read.
If a monitor is set to full brightness, it helps but, no color accurate monitor should be set to full brightness in most indoor situations.
Last but not least, for a significant part of the population of humans, bright monitors are a big migraine trigger.
Bigger, user definable type size on user definable % gray interface please!!
